Today Lizzie called; however, she seemed rather refined, quite different from her usual style. I worry that something is the matter with her and that she is keeping a consequential occurrences from me. I will not dwell on this though, for Lizzie will tell me when she is ready, I’m sure. Lizzie assured me she is fine in Hunsford and informed me of her humorous encounters with Mr. Collins. She explained that he often flaunted his house, life and connections to her as if to say, “see what you missed out on.” However, Lizzie does not seem to care since those things are insignificant, at least in her eyes, which Collins would know if he possessed an ounce of intelligence. This is severely different her mother’s point of view. I know Lizzie takes after me, especially in personality, that’s most likely the reason for my preference towards her. There is still a significant amount of time until either of my eldest daughters return, and all I can think about my extended time in solitude is “Oh Lord!!!”
Darling, our loving daughter takes after the both of us. I am just more authoritative with this whole marriage situation. You must know that Lizzy does listen to me, but she just happens to agree with you more. Lizzy hopefully is not hiding anything from us, for she usually doesn't have much news to speak of. When she returns we will learn about all her encounters with Mr. Collins and her good friend Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteYay, I am glad that you have received my letter to you. Unusual style of writing you say? You always know when something is wrong father, and that is why you are my favorite parent. As soon as I get home, I will surely tell you what is the matter father. Hint, hint, it has to do with Mr. Darcy and his irrational behavior, I just cannot handle it anymore. Mr.Collins is entertaining to me, he just does not realize that I do not take interest in anything of his, except for my dear friend Charlotte. Aww, so are you saying that I am your favorite? I really do miss you father. No worries, we will be home soon. until then, take care.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you father for your kind words about your love for me. I swear that I will come home very soon. You will have the pleasure of discovering everything that occurred here at Hunsford and Rosings. Some of it will truly shock you. I wont tell you at the moment, for I feel my emotions can be portrayed better in person. If you could simply hold on another week or so, your lovely daughter WILL return to you. If you simply wait, i'll tell you all about your favorite family member Mr. Collins and his oh so "lovely" lady. Just hold on father; I AM returning home.
ReplyDeleteFather I am extremely excited to come home. The last letter that Elizabeth wrote me also made me worried. The good thing was it didn't worry me in a bad way but a good way in which I am excited to hear all of her adventures. Can't wait to see you talk to you soon!
ReplyDeleteHi, Father! I am enjoying my stay here in London, but I am so excited to come home. I have been getting notices from Lizzie also and I dare say, I am concerned too. Luckily there is not much time left before we come home, but you should write to me sometime. I hope all is well, talk to you soon. -Jane
